Applications for the scholarship, worth £3,000, are invited from individuals wishing to study a Welsh-medium postgraduate research programme at Swansea University in an eligible programme.

The Hywel Teifi Memorial Scholarship aims to support Welsh-medium postgraduate students who wish to study a field relating to the contribution of the late Professor Hywel Teifi Edwards to Welsh learning and culture – specifically in the fields of:

  • The Welsh language
  • Welsh history
  • Welsh literature
  • Politics in Wales
  • Media in Wales
  • Drama in Wales
  • Religion in Wales
  • Welsh cultural studies

The successful candidate will be awarded at an event during the National Eisteddfod week in 2021.
