Kindness Gone Wrong It all started with Mercy fulfilling the Act of Kindness as requested by Biggie. Who knew such a kind gesture would stir up a feeling of resentment in Ike?
After picking Joe as the recipient of her Act of Kindness, Mercy proceeded to give him a long meaningful hug as demanded by the Task. This didn’t sit too well with Ike, especially as he saw it as a ploy to get him in his feelings.
Getting in His Feelings
Antecedents must have taught Mercy to expect Ike to get upset especially after being in compromising positions with the male Housemates. This must have been why she was eager to get the Task over and done with as she yelled out to Joe, “come now before people come out.” Implying that he should come to get his hug before people (Ike) comes back out. Ike did see the hug and Irked from the gesture, Ike kept to himself. A strategy he has employed to keep him from acting on his rage and earning himself a strike.
Let Me Be
Mercy’s attempts at making peace with Ike met a brick wall as he insisted on being left alone and reiterating that he wasn’t offended. “I don’t have any problem with you, let me rest,” he said as she attempted to talk to him during the morning workout. In between trying to push her away, he let out his grievance, stating Joe was looking at him while hugging her. He felt Joe was trying to get him all riled up and he wasn’t having any of that.
Persistence pays and Mercy finally got through to Ike. “For me to come to you, that means I care… I can’t see you worried and not talk to you,” she pleaded. Charmed by her plea, Ike caved in. “I think I will just give you all my attention today to make you feel better,” he said and even offered to wash her clothes, but at midnight.
All seems to be well with the Icy couple, but we wonder for how long?
