HOW I WISH YOU DEMAND A LITTLE FOR YOURSELF, MY KING Bonny Kingdom
Just this night I saw two posts on Facebook that got me thinking and further appreciated the person and personality of the beloved King of Bonny Kingdom.
The first post was that of the five wealthy traditional rulers in Nigeria who own latest Rolls Royce. Even while I was not expecting to see my King in the list, oh! How I wished for it. The 2ñd traditional ruler on the list is said to be estimated by Forbes to be the richest traditional ruler in Nigeria and the second in Africa and his source of wealth is from the fact that he owns and operates oil wells and exploration ( I shouted from where).
The other post that caught my attention this night was the pictures of the Amayanagbo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom attending his mother’s 72nd birthday celebration. There is something about the pictures that beats the heart. The King in those pictures appeared as “common” as anyone could be, but yet Elegant. As I continue to look at the pictures and my heart racing, I came to an understanding that indeed “The Man is a King”. No attires, No Crown, no beads, nothing but yet Special so much that if you take that same picture to anyone in Haiti or any other tiny Nations of the world, such person will be able to recognise that there is something Royal about the man in the simple shirt and trousers ( for those that hasn’t seem the picture look for it as my words won’t describe it adequately).
As I x-ray the two referenced post, I can only contain the fact that humility and selflessness is the reason why His Royal Majesty King Edward Asimini Williams Dappa Pepple Perekule Xl Amayanagbo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom is not in the list of the first post. The Man is selfless. He demands not for himself but for the Kingdom.
I can bet that no traditional ruler in Nigeria and even the entire Africa in this modern era, has passed on the opportunity to own so much for himself for the interest of the Kingdom. In this era when African leaders empoverished their subject so they can enjoy luxurious lifestyle, we have a King who rather bring luxury of electricity ( so much a luxury in Nigeria ) to his people than been listed as owners of Rolls Royce, we have a King who rather than build castle for himself ensured that about the best road in Nigeria ( King Williams bypass Road) was built in his island and a host of other developmental strides enjoyed by the good people of Bonny Kingdom at a time when government presence is at all-time low.
I choose to write this post not to commend the King because he does not need it as he sees the good of the kingdom as good of himself because he is the Amayanagbo. But I choose to write this to state how I also wish he could demand for himself. Truly I would like to see Our King with series of Rolls Royce, private jets and Yacht given that those one who owns and rides then, got same as proceeds from our land ironically Our King is the Owner of the Lands.
